Deluxe Stable Door

RJ Joinery offer a wide range of the highest quality stables doors. Handmade by professional craftsmen in our UK workshop! This weeks blog takes a look at our Deluxe Stable Door.

Full Stable Door - Includes top and bottom doors - suitable for wooden, block or brick buildings.

Bottom Half Door - Well suited for American Barn internal stabling and when top door is not required. Anti weaver grills are used an alternative to top doors.

Construction & Materials

The deluxe stable door is manufactured using a ledged and braced structure with a 22mm planed tongue and groove redwood boarding with 12mm ply lining to both top and bottom door. All our doors are screwed together (with over 200 screws). Most stable doors on the market are constructed using nails. Therefore, screwing gives us an advantage over our competitors! Screws are a superior fastener and work better over time. Not only do the hold better, they have better control going in, and draw boards together. Because most nails have a shaft with no ridges, they rely on friction to work. A little shifting or normal expansion/contraction of wood - they will work their way out.

Once manufactured, this door is treated in our preserving tank with a solvent based golden brown treatment.

The Deluxe Stable Door is a beautifully made door with a very pleasing apperance, made to withstand a long life of hard work.
